Pasture Walk with Don Wirth of Saddle Butte Ag

Join us for a pasture walk where Don will discuss pasture species, why he chooses different combinations, and how to identify them in the field. In addition, Don will talk about his weed pressure and management strategies. Come with questions, these tours offer an opportunity to connect with the farm host, with other farmers and ranchers in the area, and with OSU Extension Services.

Don Wirth, is an innovative Oregon farmer and promoter of cover crops and forage in the United States and internationally. Don has over 50 years of experience in cropping systems, testing and evaluating forage and cover crops in Oregon. Don has served on the Oregon Tall Fescue Growers Seed Commission and Oregon Ryegrass Growers Seed Commission (ORC). Don and his wife, Maryanne, launched Oregon’s first cover crop seed business. Today the family company, Saddle Butte Ag, is a forage & cover crop seed distribution company that also works to educate, support, and promote cover crops and forage nationally and internationally.
