The end of the season doesn't mean the end of your inventory. Safely prepared value added products can keep your shelves stocked and improve your profitability.

While products such as jams, jellies, pickles, hot sauces and other prepared products are often what first comes to mind, dried flowers and other non-food offerings can convert your summer bounty into year-round income. Invest in planning and research in the off season so you can decide if value added products are right for you. There is also changing food safety standards that need to be met and why non-food alternatives may be easier to start.

In this in person workshop we will hear from a local grower who creates art from dried flowers as a better approach for her operation and discuss the pros and cons, the equipment needed and available extension resources to confidently add these products to your small farm next year.
