Community healers, foragers, gardeners, chefs, and myco-curious folk! OSU Extension Small Farms and Zoom Out Mycology hosts a series of four introductory and interactive mycology workshops in the fall, beginning on the weekend of September 18 and 19. The third and fourth workshops are December 12 and 19. The workshops will cover how to grow medicinal and gourmet mushrooms using sustainable practices. You won’t want to miss it! Zoom Out Mycology wants to empower people to sustainably produce their own food/medicine and believe that growing gourmet and medicinal fungi is an easy, versatile, and fun way to do just that.
- Workshop 1: Fungi and Sustainability in Reishi Trials, September 18, 10 am to 2 pm- COMPLETED

- Workshop 2: Warm Weather Mushroom Growing, September 19, 10 am to 2 pm- COMPLETED
Information shared about indoor and outdoor mushroom cultivation techniques, highlighting some of the most desirable warm weather varieties including Reishi and Pink Oyster. Class presentation from 10 am to 12 (with a break); 12 to 2pm participate in an optional tour of Zoom Out Mycology Mushroom Farm (carpooling from OSU Extension Center). Extension Center).
- Workshop 3: Medicinal Mushroom Utilization, December 12, 12 pm to 4 pm
This event covers the exploration, appreciation, and utilization of mushrooms as medicine! Learn about the mushrooms we grow and forage, and about utilizing their full potential. Register by Dec. 10, $35. After Dec. 10, $45.
- Workshop 4: Cool Weather Cultivars, December 19, 10 am to 2 pm
