In this class, we will learn to identify and apply integrated management strategies to control troublesome weeds in our fields, pastures, and riparian areas. Through understanding the biology of weeds like yellow star-thistle, blackberry, and buttercup, we can maximize the control of these plants while minimizing the need for herbicides. We will discuss methods including mowing, tillage, hand-pulling, fire, and grazing, as well as the safe use of herbicides.
