This class will address how to manage and balance the resources that are important to you, such as wildlife, timber, and pastures, while protecting your property and those values from wildfire.

Miranda Stuart has an extensive background in prescribed fire and wildfire operations throughout the United States. Her work experience has been in wildlife management, geographic information systems (GIS), fire ecology, ecosystem restoration, and landscape management. Miranda has worked on fire-related issues with four of the five land-management agencies throughout the nation and has an extensive background in structure protection from a wildfire perspective. She recently retired as the Deputy Chief of Fire Operations for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and is currently working on writing the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for the Applegate Valley.
