After learning hands-on about pplanting Douglas-fir seedlings, students took them home to plant with their families, as well as an instruction cards with information about the state tree and Oregon’s forests.
When Portland-area youth affected by the pandemic and a social justice movement taking place in their city needed an outlet to express themselves publicly through art, an Oregon State University team of educators and specialists planned and executed the inaugural OSU Virtual Art Show.
OSU Extension partnered with the Sagebrush Prison Project coordinators to help provide environmental and agricultural experiences to inmates at the minimum security Warner Creek Correctional Facility in Lakeview.
The tools and resources created for the WE CAN study are useful for any health condition and include recommendations that individuals can apply to their lives.
As a result of the project, students engaged in activities that supported learning skills in reading (following instructions) writing (science journals), math (graphs and measurements), science exploration and design challenges.
