Ready to join 4-H? We're so excited to have you! If this is your first time joining, welcome. Your local 4-H Program Coordinator is here to help you find a club, enroll in projects, and sign up for camps, contests and workshops throughout the year.

The 2024-2025 school year is here, and that means the 4-H year is rapidly approaching! The new 4-H year will begin October 1st, and online enrollment will be available the last week of September. Make sure to sign up for our email list to get notified when online enrollment opens.

4-H programs across Oregon are managed by local 4-H faculty in Extension offices who tailor programming to community needs. They're here to help you find your Spark!

Before enrolling for the first time, contact your local team to make sure there's a club or project that suits your family's schedule. Due to volunteer availability, not all projects are available in every location (psst... you can help us fix that by volunteering!).

Enroll when you're ready.

Once you know what projects or clubs you want to join—and you've checked that they're available in your community—it's time to enroll! You can use 4-HOnline to complete all your paperwork for the 2024-2025 school year starting October 1.

It's important to check with your local program coordinator to get paired with a club before enrolling. Your club and club leader will serve as your guide to all things 4-H this year, so you want to find a good fit that meets at a time and location that works for you.

Prefer paper options?

If you aren't able to complete the online registration, we have identical paperwork you can print in English or Spanish. Simply return the paperwork to your local 4-H county program and they can help match you with a club and make sure you're enrolled in the projects you want to participate in this year.

What if there's not a club near me?

You can join 4-H without being a club member, but you might miss out on some information and opportunities. Lots of the 4-H "Learn by Doing" process happens through club membership! For example, you can be a club officer, join a club team for a knowledge or skills contest, or complete club service projects in your local community.

If you can't find a club that works for you, why not start a club of your own?

All you need is 5 friends, from 3 different families, and 2 responsible adults!

Gather four new friends and return the 4-H Club charter to your local program office to start your own club. Starting a 4-H Club is your gateway to civic engagement, learning new skills, making friends, traveling the world, and giving back to your community.

4-H Youth Development

What if there's no program in my county?

OSU Extension provides services directly to 34 of Oregon's 36 counties. If you live in Josephine or Multnomah County, you may still be able to participate in 4-H through your nearest program.

For Multnomah county residents, you can contact Clackamas, Washington, or Hood River county offices.

Josephine County residents can learn about statewide opportunities, or contact the Jackson county 4-H program in the Southern Oregon Research and Extension Center in Central Point.

Members of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs can also participate through the Warm Springs 4-H program.

I was enrolled last year. Do I have to enroll again this year?

Yes. If you enrolled online last year, most of the paperwork will be completed for you in 4-HOnline. Using the email address and password you used last year, log in to 4-HOnline and confirm your contact information, health forms, and sign the paperwork for this year.

If you've lost your password, please don't make a new account. Use the "recover password" option in 4-HOnline or contact your local Extension office to get help.

Do I have to join a club to be in 4-H?

Nope! Even if you're not ready for a club, we have plenty of options for you.

No matter your budget, schedule, or passion, there is a 4-H program for you. Membership in 4-H is open to all youth without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender expression, disability, sexual orientation, or marital / parental status.

Go To Camp! 4‑H overnight and day camps offer recreational and educational opportunities in a camp setting. 4‑H camps provide youth with the chance to meet new people, have fun and experience the great outdoors. Learn more about 4-H camps.
Participate at School! 4‑H after-school and in-school programs provide 4‑H activities during and after school hours using hands-on activities and 4‑H curriculum. Both programs are available in grade schools and high schools.
Explore the Cloverbuds Program for youth ages 5-8. Learn more about the Cloverbuds program.
Participate in an event or short-term class: All across the state, 4-H offers short-term classes throughout the year where you can learn skills from cake decorating to financial management. Check your local events calendar to see what's happening near you!
