Biography
Born and raised in Costa Rica, Central America. Received my Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition in 2009 and my Licentiate degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Costa Rica in 2010. Received my Doctorate degree in Food Technology (Nutrition Education) from Clemson University in 2015. I’m a licensed Zumba instructor since 2013 and I'm PMP certified since 2022. I started working for Oregon State University in 2016 as the Clatsop County SNAP-Ed Coordinator and received a statewide appointment as EFNEP Program Manager in 2017. I'm really proud of being an Afro Latina and very passionate about helping others. My career goal is to continue to work in the definition of innovative strategies that help historically underrepresented communities make healthier choices and improve their quality of life.
