4-H Enrollment is now done for the 2011/12 year. If you are interested in joining 4-H, please give us a call and we can talk about enrolling for the 2012/13 year, starting October 1, 2012.

Note: Leaders if you do not reenroll every year, you will need to go through the entire approval process again.

4-H Youth

The 4-H Youth Development Program helps young people grow to become productive citizens. We offer 4-H clubs/projects, and summer camp. Columbia County 4-H youth programs build leadership skills, communication skills, and citizenship skills!

Get involved

Youth in grades 4 through 12 can join in 4-H specific projects. We also have a program for youth in kindergarten to grade 3 (4-H Cloverbuds). Visit How to Join for more details, and call 503-397-3462. We'll be happy to connect you with 4-H clubs that have same project interests as your child.

4-H needs adult volunteer

Adult volunteers lead 4-H projects and programs. Make a difference in the lives of youth in Columbia County. For more information about becoming a 4-H volunteer, visit Volunteer Opportunities. Please call for more information, and to reserve your spot for our next New Leader's Training, which is Tuesday, November 23rd, from 6:00-9:30 pm, here at the OSU Extension Service office.

4-H IMPORTANT DATES:

Enrollment Fees Increase: January 31st (From $25 to $30)

Columbia County Horse Classic: February 18th

Last New Leaders Training for 2012: March 1st

4-H Enrollment Deadline: April 1st

Teen Retreat: April 13-15th

Youth Fair: May 18-20th (Registration Forms: Horse & Dog or Livestock & Small Animal)

County Fair Registration Deadline: June 1st (Horse/Dog Qualification forms, Livestock and Small Animal Lease/borrow forms, Stall/Pen/Dorm request forms, and Fair Registration Forms) by 5:00 pm.

Summer Camp: June 17-20th (campers) - REGISTRATION FORM; June 16-21st (staff)

County Fair Dates: Horse Gaming: Saturday, July 7th          Regular 4-H County Fair: July 16th - July 22nd

State Fair: TBA (waiting for official announcement)

2012/2013 Enrollment begins: October 1st, 2012
