Yamhill County Master Gardeners

Master Gardeners have a love of gardening and a passion to share that knowledge with others. A master gardener has extensive training and knowledge about growing and caring for plants. The master gardener program educates Oregonians about the art and science of growing and caring for plants. This program also facilitates the training of a highly educated group of volunteers. These volunteers extend sustainable gardening information to their communities through education and outreach programs. Classes are held at the beginning of every year.

In 2021, the Community Garden donated 17,089 pounds of fresh produce and distributed 14 564 pounds to the Regional Food Bank at YCAP and 2,525 pounds to the Cooperative Ministries.

The Yamhill County Master Gardener Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to enhance and support the Yamhill County extension of the OSU Master Gardener™ program.

Master Gardener volunteers can be found throughout our community, answering gardening questions at OSU Extension offices, local Farmers’ markets, and Master Gardener events. Master Gardener volunteers also create and manage demonstration gardens, school gardens, and community gardens. They host garden tours, workshops, and classes.
