Heidi joined the OSU Extension Metro-area Small Farms Program in 2012. She coordinates educational events for beginning and small-scale commercial farmers and participates in field demonstrations for organic vegetable producers. Heidi is working towards a masters degree in environmental science at Oregon State University, she has studied horticulture at Michigan State and Cornell Universities and has over 25 years of experience working in agriculture; on orchards, vegetable farms, university research labs and in Extension education. Heidi’s areas of interest include: climate adaptation for small-scale farmers, winter vegetable production, integrated pest management and beginning farmer education. She is an apple fanatic and enjoys introducing people to their new favorite apple.
