4-H has so many opportunities for participation. Save or print our 2025-2026 4-H Calendar – a non-exhaustive and continuously updating list of countywide deadlines and dates of events!
Here is a printable calendar for the current month to stick up on your fridge or somewhere else to keep up with what's happening!
Here is the shortlist of deadlines for the year, this doesn't include all of the fun events, learning days or classes, just the deadlines you DO NOT want to miss! Most will affect your ability participate at county fair so make sure these are on your schedule!
4-H Deadlines:
- 10/1: 4-H Enrollment Opens, online
- 10/7, 9am-12pm/1pm-5pm: 4-H Record Books Due, online
- 11/13, 7-8pm: 4-H Awards Program, Polk County Fairgrounds
- 1/15: Enrollment Fee Increases from $50 to $60
- 2/15: Enrollment Deadline for Returning 4-H Members
(contact [email protected] if you require extension request form) - 3/3, 6-8pm: PCLA Market Program - Mandatory Steer Tagging & Optional Weigh-in, Polk County Fairgrounds
- 5/1: Enrollment Deadline for New Members
- 5/3, 9am-12pm: PCLA Market Program - Mandatory Spring (Pigs, Lambs, Goats) Tagging & Optional Weigh-in, Polk County Fairgrounds
- 6/15 - YQCA Deadline (last year's certifications are good for 3 years)
- 6/26, 6/27, 6/28 - Horse Pre-Fair
- 7/1, 11:59pm: Fair Entries Due! online
- 7/17-7/18 - Dog Fair
- 7/8, 6-7pm: PCLA Market Program Open Weigh-in, Polk County Fairgrounds
- 7/8, 6-7pm: PCLA Market Program Mandatory Small Animal Drive Through Certification
- 7/23 - 7/26 - Horse Fair
- 8/3-8/8 - County Fair
