Summary

Mummy berry disease is prevalent throughout the Pacific Northwest, west of the Cascade Mountain Range, and affects the northern highbush blueberry industry. Growers often underestimate the potential damage of fungus-caused mummy berry. It may occur at low levels for many years and then, in one year of environmental conditions favorable to the fungus, increase greatly and cause dramatic annual yield losses. This publication briefly describes the mummy berry disease cycle and available management methods.
