Jim: "Hey Pete, how you doing?"

That's the day Jim saved my life. I tried ending it all once before. Hold on fellas, Jim wasn't going to let it happen again. "Hi Jim, where's my best tipper?" When I stopped showing up, Jim showed up at my door. [Music] He didn't let me brush him off, and he took me to the hospital in town to get me help. Everyone has a role in preventing suicide. Know the warning signs and help save a life.

If you or someone you know is in crisis or emotional distress, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-TALK.

Agriculture is an occupation full of potential stressors like weather, changing economic markets, animal health and machinery breakdowns. When these start to compound, many farmers experience excessive amounts of stress, making it hard to remain positive and move forward through the hard times.

Due in part to the stresses that are faced, agricultural workers have high rates of suicide. The loss of a spouse, parent, sibling, child or friend can be avoided. If you or someone you know is experiencing excessive stress or thoughts of suicide, please reach out to a confidential crisis support line. For more information go to: beav.es/farm-stress
