In Hood River County 4-H, kids ages 5-19 explore interests, build confidence, and learn lifelong skills through hands‑on projects. Youth can join clubs, attend camps, take on leadership roles, and work on projects year‑round, showcasing their work at the Hood River County Fair. From coding and sewing to animal care, there’s something for everyone.
We also welcome adult volunteers to help guide and support local youth, whether you want to lead a project, teach a workshop, or help at events. No experience is required, just a willingness to share your time or talents.
What is 4-H in Hood River County?
Every summer, the fair allows 4-H'ers in Hood River County to showcase the results of a year’s worth of learning and dedication. Some youth have been raising animals since last fall, feeding and caring for them every day. Others spend months sewing garments, baking treats, or designing computer games. From hearth exhibits in the Wy’east Gymnasium to livestock shows at the Hood River Fairgrounds, you can see it all during Fair Week, July 22–25, 2026. But 4-H isn’t just a summer activity — it’s a year-round program that supports youth through projects in family science, biology, engineering, and more.
