Statewide Resources
The Master Gardener program is an Oregon State University Extension Service program that helps Oregon gardeners learn more about the art and science of growing and caring for plants. It also enables these trained volunteers to extend sustainable gardening information to their communities through educational outreach programs.

Earning your Master Gardener Badge
After completing the Master Gardener training, participants will be expected to complete 45 hours of volunteer service in the community in order to receive their Master Gardener certification.
The OSU Master Gardener Program™ is dependent upon volunteers. Apprentice Master Gardeners continue to learn outside the classroom, gaining experience and training working with veteran Master Gardeners. You will receive full Master Gardener status once all classes, exam and volunteer service hours are satisfied. Upon completion, you will be recognized with a certificate and official badge at the Master Gardener Graduation in December. Most graduates then join the local chapter, Clatsop County Master Gardener Assoc., and continue their lifelong learning and community support with folks who share the same interests in horticulture and gardening.
