Livestock Market Possession Verification Information
Weigh-In's and Possession Photos
All market exhibitors will be required to verify possession of their market animals during the spring weigh-in. If you are unable to attend spring weigh-ins you will not be eligible for the rate of gain contest but will still be allowed to sell. Provided you submit a photo with the youth, animal and ear tag id (already in the animal’s ear) clearly visible before the selected deadline. tags can picked up at the OSU Extension office prior to deadline.
Auction Eligibility
The youth in 4-H and FFA learn important life skills, responsibility, decision-making, and record keeping. Eligibility requirements to show and sell can be found in the fair premium book. Make sure you review all information. NOTE: Your project animal must be declared as either an FFA or 4-H project animal at the start of the project. The animal must be shown and remain either a 4-H or FFA animal at any shows that you attend.
Possession Dates:
- Market Beef (120 days)
- All breeding stock & Dogs (90 days)
- Market Hog/Lamb/Goat (60 days)
- Small Animal Breeding Stock (60 days)
- Small Animal Market (30 days)
Show Entry Information
Club leaders are responsible for submitting entries to the online Showorks system by a preselected deadline discussed at the June/July pre-fair leaders meeting. After the deadline no additional entries can be made. Reach out to your leader or connect with them at meetings so that you are on the same page.
Weigh-In Day At Fair
No tack unloaded during weigh-in. Bring tack Sunday or Monday during clean up and set up or after weigh-in is complete. These should not be put in your record book since recordbooks will be collected prior to weigh-in and you won't have access to them.
