There are five active 4-H swine clubs in Washington County. These 4-H clubs focus on showmanship as well as raising market and breeding animals. Meeting locations and date vary so please email [email protected] for more information.

- Keeping Your 4-H Market Animals Healthy
- An OSU 4-H publication written in partnership with DVMs, Extension Ag and 4-H professionals to help prepare 4-H youth to raise quality and healthy project animals. This resource was updated in 2024 and includes disease and nutrition information.
- Judging Swine and Oral Reasons
- A Pacific Northwest publication to help 4-H youth understand the parts of a pig and judging basics including oral reasons terms and worksheet.

- A comprehensive website of swine breeds that includes breed of origin and breed purpose.

- A comprehensive website that contains swine biology, breeding, diseases, and management practices topics. Most of the publications were published in 2019.

Project Records
All 4-H members participating at fair are required to submit one project record. Swine 4-H youth are encouraged to use either the Animal Science project or Swine Market Feed and Growth Project Record or Production Record (if exhibiting a breeding project) below.
Please note, the Washington County Livestock Auction organization may require additional documents, like the Market Hog Health Record, to participate in the fair auction.
