Livestock Projects: Dairy, Meat, and Wool

In Oregon, raising livestock is one of the most popular 4-H activities—over 10,000 kids learn to raise healthy cattle, goats, sheep, and swine in Oregon 4-H each year.

Many of these kids go on to market their animals for sale locally or work with a local auction to find buyers; however, selling your animal is not required to participate in the transformational community and learning experience of 4-H Animal Science projects.

4-H can connect you with the best in biosecurity, ethics, nutrition, and more. Contact your local Extension Office to get started today!

Below, you'll find resources for Beef, Dairy Cattle, Goats, Sheep, and Swine Projects. You'll also find advancements for improving your projects each year and recording your progress in 4-H. For information about showing a project at the Oregon State Fair, see our State Fair information page.
