Youth Tractor Safety Certification

The Oregon Department of Agriculture requires that farmers and ranchers who employ minors under 18 years of age ensure that those minors have completed and passed tractor safety training.

The Youth Tractor Safety Certification course is a 22-hour program that meets the requirements of the Oregon Department of Agriculture. Courses are offered in multiple counties in spring and summer for youth ages 14-17 who are interested in summer employment opportunities in the upcoming agricultural season.

All classes contain an in-person and online component. For more information, contact Andrea Leao or reach out to your local Extension Office.

March 2026 Class

Linn County – Knife River Training Center - $75

March 24-26, 2026, 8:00AM-4:30PM

Tractor Safety Training and Certification course sponsored by the OSU Extension Service. Training will include online work, classroom work, homework and tractor driving. This is for youth, ages 14-17, who are interested in summer employment opportunities in the upcoming agricultural season. Must participate in all three dates.
