What scholarships can help pay for college?

Q:

I'm not sure if I'll have enough money to afford college. What do you think I could do?

A:

To qualify for one or more scholarships, you must consider, for example:

  • Having good grades (a 3.0 GPA or better)
  • Showing community service during your middle and high school years
  • Having a good story to tell about yourself, your struggles, your successes, your goals and your dreams.

Questions you should ask yourself are:

  • Why do I deserve a scholarship?
  • What have I done for others to deserve a scholarship?
  • Why do I need money?
