CORVALLIS, Ore. — Marina Denny has been named associate vice provost for engagement for the Oregon State University Division of Extension and Engagement, effective Aug. 31.
As associate vice provost, Denny will build, sustain and implement a vision for Extension and engagement within the university, Oregon communities and beyond, helping advance community-engaged scholarship across OSU. Her work will include expanding collaboration across colleges and divisions.
Denny will also share leadership for Division of Extension and Engagement operations and guide efforts to advance diversity, equity and inclusion throughout its programs and the communities it serves.
Experience in land-grant leadership
Denny brings more than 20 years of land-grant university experience leading teams, supporting community volunteers, facilitating strategic planning and advising senior leadership on policy and training needs.
“I am passionate about working together with people from all walks of life to explore innovative opportunities and bring about positive change,” she said.
Most recently, Denny served as an associate professor and Extension specialist in program and staff development in the School of Human Sciences at Mississippi State University. Previously, she worked as a county faculty member and county Extension director at the University of Florida.
Denny earned a doctorate in organizational leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in wildlife ecology and conservation and a master’s degree in environmental education curriculum and instruction, both from the University of Florida.
