What We Do

Discover ways to learn and get involved. Here are some highlights of our activities and specialties.

Commercial Horticulture

The northeast tip of Umatilla County is blessed with a variety of fruit crops, wine grapes, and vegetables. The Valley is commonly referred to as a “banana belt” and has a more moderate climate than most of the Pacific Northwest. This means that the area produces superlative fruit and vegetables sooner than the rest of Oregon and Washington, giving it a distinct marketing advantage.
