Biography
Mark E. Swanson is a forester and ecologist with broad interests in silviculture, disturbance ecology, botany, and other fields. His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management (University of Washington, 1999) and a PhD in Forest Ecosystem Analysis (University of Washington, 2007). From 2007 to 2023 he served on the faculty in natural resource sciences at Washington State University. In 2023, Mark arrived at Oregon State University, where he serves as Associate Professor and the Starker Chair in Private and Family Forestry.
