Extension has been part of Jefferson County since 1935, providing the community with research-based knowledge and education.  Educational programs are provided in the areas of:

  • Education & Leadership Training 

For those living in Jefferson County the Madras Extension Office is the front door to Oregon State University. It is our goal to increase the relevance of current Extension program areas, and increase Oregon State University's footprint in our community by providing easy access to the knowledge and expertise across the entire university.

Biomass includes any woody material we strategically take off the land as a by-product of forest restoration. Biomass can be used to produce a full range of products including energy, lumber, composites, paper and pulp, furniture, housing components, round wood, ethanol and other liquids, chemicals, biochar, and energy feedstocks.
