Biography

Lucas Nebert is the statewide extension specialist for organic seed and planting stock. He serves all producers, regardless of organic certification status.

Lucas holds a masters degree in Soil Quality (Wageningen University, the Netherlands) and a doctorate degree in Environmental Science, Studies and Policy, from University of Oregon. In his graduate work, he specialized in the soil and plant microbiome, including earthworm-microbe interactions, and seed-associated bacteria and fungi. At OSU, he has worked for OSU Dry Farming Program since 2018, and has led the program since 2022. He began his current position in fall of 2024. He also manages a small, organic farm in Corvallis, OR, called Dream Seed Farm, LLC.
