Biography
Nan Xu, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the General Agriculture Extension Program at Oregon State University, based at the Southern Oregon Research and Extension Center (SOREC) and serving Jackson and Josephine counties. Her work centers on soil health and nutrient management to support sustainable crop production across diverse agricultural systems.
Dr. Xu works with growers in orchards, vineyards, pastures, and specialty crop systems to address soil and production challenges within broader management contexts. Her Extension program integrates applied research and education to develop practical, data-driven management strategies. She delivers programming through workshops, field days, and on-farm collaborations.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures.
