Volunteers
A caring and supportive relationship with an adult is a critical component of the 4-H youth development program. 4-H youth thrive because of you!
4-H relies on many types of volunteers to make our programming great! Types of volunteer opportunities include:
- Club Leaders: meet with youth once a month to educate and engage in hands-on activities related to their project of interest
- Resource Leaders: support leaders for our Club Leaders, but not in charge of planning educational content
- Event Volunteers: volunteers to support a variety of 4-H programming including camps, workshops, conferences, and fair

Both new and returning leaders enroll as 4-H Volunteers each year starting in September. The enrollment process includes:
- Youth Safety Training
- 4-H Online application forms
- Criminal History Check (every 2 years)
- Providing 3 references (new volunteers only)
- 3 hours of education on positive youth development and 4-H program foundations (new leaders only)
