Awards, Scholarships, and Recognition

4-H grows future leaders. From teaching younger 4-H members to participating in regional, state, and national events, 4-H provides opportunities for young people to build life-long leadership skills.

Polk County 4-H Ambassadors

Challenge yourself to explore and build leadership skills! Polk County 4-H Ambassadors club is open to all ages 13 and up. 4-H Ambassadors develop their leadership skills in any number of creative ways and work as a team to help create a positive impact on their community. They also help with a number of county 4-H events including the Fall Awards and Recognition Night, County Fair Awards, and more!

Polk County Marcia Eash Memorial Fund

Due with recordbooks in late-September. This memorial fund continues Marica Eash's twenty-three year legacy of supporting youth and the Polk County 4-H program. Please consider applying for this fund if you want to expand your knowledge in a project area.

4-H Animal Award Application

A long standing tradition, youth can apply to interview for a shot at being selected as the Live Animal Award Recipient. This long standing tradition is in partnership with Platt's Dairy and the Kinder Goat Breeders Association which helps provide the opportunity for Polk County 4-H youth to experience raising new animal species. Applications are due to the Polk County Extension Office by Monday, July 7th 2025.

Other Awards and Recognition

The Oregon 4-H program provides a variety of informal and formal opportunities for youth to gain recognition. Older youth are provided significant opportunities for recognition at both the state and national level.

Polk County Graduating Senior Scholarship

We welcome all Polk County graduating seniors to apply for this scholarship. Several scholarships are available to graduating Polk County 4-H youth.

Whitney Latham Memorial Scholarship

The Whitney Latham Memorial scholarship was set up in memory of Whitney Latham (1994-2023) by the Latham, Gilson, and Padilla Families to honor Whitney’s memory and the impact she left on those around her. Whitney’s life was marked by her kindness, resilience, focus, personal growth, diligent work ethic and infectious laughter. She was gracious and dedicated. This scholarship was created to continue the lasting impact she left on those that knew her.

Statewide Leadership
