Instructor Recertification
Better Bones & Balance® Instructor Recertification
BBB certification and licensure are valid for three years, after which instructors will need to recertify via application and completion of continuing education credits, or by participating in the BBB Online Recertification Training. Recertification and licensing fees are the same for the application and our online training:
- Registration / Application Fee: $75.00
- Licensing Fee: $100.00
This year, instructors who got certified in 2022 MUST renew their license. See below for more information about our recertification options.
Option 1: Recertify by participating in the BBB Online Recertification Training
In place of our annual in-person BBB Workshop, our team has created an online, asynchronous recertification training that can be completed on your own time in the comfort of your own home. The training covers a range of topics, including:
- Skeletal development
- Physical activity and bone
- Falls and fractures
- Incorporating balance into programming
The BBB Recertification Training will be open from October 31st, 2025 to January 31st, 2026. Instructors must be complete the training by January 31st in order to successfully renew their certification. Register for the training using the button below!
Option 2: Recertify by completing the Recertification Application and Continuing Education Credits
Complete the online BBB Recertification Application and attach all relevant documentation, including 6 CEUs (4 general fitness and 2 skeletal health and/or fall/fracture prevention courses) to renew your certification and licensure. We revised our application in 2021 to account for the impact that COVID-19 has had on instructors' programming efforts.
Please review our Qualifying Continuing Education Activities document prior to submitting an application to ensure that the activities you have completed will count towards the CEU requirements.
The BBB Recertification Application is available to complete from October 31st, 2025 to January 31st, 2026. Applications and relevant fees must be submitted by January 31st in order to successfully recertify. Access the application using the button below!
