Biography
Berit holds a Ph.D. in Applied Anthropology from Oregon State University, with a focus on ethnobiology and agricultural issues. Since 2018, she has worked with Extension services to conduct community-based needs assessments with agricultural producers. Her work informs public policy and supports the development of research and educational programs that promote the social, economic, and environmental sustainability of Oregon’s agricultural communities.
She currently serves as a Faculty Research Assistant for two high-impact statewide programs—the Master Gardener Program and the River Basin Water Quality Program. In this role, she coordinates outreach activities with the communities these programs are designed to serve and supports faculty in designing and delivering consumer-informed research and educational initiatives.
