Jennifer Alexander has served as director of Extension and Experiment Station Communications (EESC) since her appointment in 2016. Jennifer joined Oregon State University and EESC in 2010, serving first as a publishing manager and then as interim director. She previously worked as a technical editor for Kansas State University Research and Extension and in research communications for Pioneer Hi-Bred in Iowa. Jennifer holds a bachelor’s degree in horticulture and journalism and mass communications and a master's degree in agricultural education, both from Iowa State University. Jennifer is active with the Association for Communication Excellence, including past service on the ACE board of directors and contributions as part of the national land grant impact communications committee. As director, Jennifer provides leadership and management for EESC, a team that supports the strategic communication needs of the statewide OSU Extension Service and the Oregon Agricultural Experiment Station. EESC collaborates with faculty, staff, and leadership on educational publishing; news, issues, and impact communications; visual design and multimedia; and web, content strategy, and educational technology efforts. EESC also provides communications advice, consultation, and training for OSU Extension and AES faculty and staff.
