The category of Old Roses remains one of the most misunderstood and confusing. Nurseries may call a plant an "antique rose" or an "old garden rose," but the rose may not truly be an Old Garden Rose.

Companion planting can attract beneficial insects, serve as a trap crop for pests, improve soil health, and much more. This list was created by a retail nursery employee and offers some suggestions of herbs and flowers that can be used as companions to vegetable crops.
When deciding upon which plants will be used in your garden or landscaping project it’s important to avoid selecting species that are considered invasive. This publication provides several examples of invasive plants for our area, specifically for zones 5 and 6 of the United States Department of Agriculture’s “hardiness zones” chart.
