OSU Extension partnered with the Sagebrush Prison Project coordinators to help provide environmental and agricultural experiences to inmates at the minimum security Warner Creek Correctional Facility in Lakeview.
The workshops and popular field tours provided the education needed to make the right decisions about livestock grazing and irrigation in order to conserve water, increase forage production and increase profits.

After learning hands-on about pplanting Douglas-fir seedlings, students took them home to plant with their families, as well as an instruction cards with information about the state tree and Oregon’s forests.
