OSU's Kaci Buhl speaks with a patient care assistant, Micah Bicker, from the University of California-Davis about the importance of recognizing pesticide exposure in healthcare, and common frustrations with diagnoses and treatment plans. She offers tips from her own experience with calls from the National Pesticide Information Center as well as tips from a free e-book "Recognition and Management of Pesticide Poisonings". This video is 21 minutes long and was produced by the Pesticide Educational Resources Collaborative for Medical Professionals (PERC-med).

Use pesticides safely!

  • Wear protective clothing and safety devices as recommended on the label. Bathe or shower after each use.
  • Read the pesticide label—even if you’ve used the pesticide before. Follow closely the instructions on the label (and any other directions you have).
  • Be cautious when you apply pesticides. Know your legal responsibility as a pesticide applicator. You may be liable for injury or damage resulting from pesticide use.
