Biography
Nick Andrews is a member of OSU’s Center for Small Farms & Community Food Systems. In January 2020 he started serving as an OSU Organic Vegetable Extension agent based in the Willamette Valley. Nick started with OSU Extension in 2005, and was previously an organic inspector with Oregon Tilth, orchard consultant in Hood River and vegetable entomologist in England and Scotland with ADAS. His work focuses on Organic vegetable production. Nick developed the Organic Fertilizer and Cover Crop Calculator in collaboration with Dan Sullivan and others at OSU. He is collaborating with OSU colleagues to develop Croptime, a degree-day modeling website for vegetable growers. Nick is also active in the new Western Cover Crops Council. Nick earned a B.S. in Horticulture from OSU in 1991 with a minor in Horticultural Science. He received a M.Sc. in Crop Protection with distinction from the University of Reading, UK in 1995.
