It’s important to keep food safety in mind when storing herbs or vegetables such as garlic, mushrooms and chili peppers in oil. The combination of these low-acid foods and oil create an environment for deadly bacteria.
As a result of this work, 110 applications to the program came in from August through December 2021. Sixty projects were completed with payments totaling $300,000 for replacements, repairs and reimbursements for septic and well systems.
Stories of Fire was created for media covering wildfires and related topics in Oregon with a broad goal to increase mutual learning between Oregon journalists and fire scientists to improve science-based coverage of wildfire events and issues.
