Producers have questioned the conventional advice to apply lime to change the pH of coastal soils. We look at one set of data on ryegrass pastures that shows the return on investment may indeed be modest.
The study showed that the crop performed equally well with and without gypsum and nutritional samples of the hemp flowers did not indicate any problems by discontinuing applications.
Not every yard is suited for in-ground gardening. In rental situations or in areas with poor soil, garden space must sometimes be “created.” That's when raised beds and containers come into play.
Drought has become a fact of life for farmers throughout the West. For hemp growers, careful planning for where, when and what to plant can result in a crop that will thrive despite dry conditions.

Q: I have heard about applying lime to my lawn and garden to improve my soil. Can I use the pictured product, and how would I apply it? There are no application directions.
The plants in the field trials were chosen by an advisory group of nursery growers and landscape designers and were evaluated on growth, visual appeal, timing of flowering, density of flowers, physiology and heat tolerance.
