Buy Oregon Foods

Did you know that every sponsor of a Child Nutrition Program in Oregon is eligible to receive money to help buy local foods? No grant application required, but there is some paperwork.

Details on how to take advantage of this statewide program are available from the Oregon Department of Education Farm to Child Nutrition Program, and technical assistance is available from the Oregon Farm to School Network. Purchasing local foods Pre-K students can be different, so if your site service Early Childcare reach out to Ecotrust.

Then start connecting with Oregon farmers, fishers, ranchers and food processors who are ready to sell to schools! Find them on the Oregon Harvest for Schools Directory. It is free and easy to use.

Recipes using local foods

Check out COOKING FOR A CROWD recipes available from Food Hero. These recipes can be made using Oregon ingredients, and all have been analyzed by Child Nutrition Specialists and meet meal pattern requirements for schools and child centers.
