In the Master Gardener™ program, you'll receive comprehensive training to equip you with research-based, sustainable gardening knowledge, which you can then share with your community as a volunteer through educational outreach. It's a fantastic way to contribute to the environment and support your local community.
Training includes classroom instruction with additional hands-on workshops in local gardens on select Saturday mornings. Master Gardeners are encouraged to share what they learn. But this is just the beginning of many additional learning opportunities made available to you so you can continue learning. In person classes will run from Jan. 14th - Apr. 29th, 2025 in St. Helens, OR.
Cost of the program is $100.00 which includes a large resource book. Some scholarships are available. Master Gardeners are responsible for providing volunteer gardening education to the community as partial payback for the training.
Classes are delivered by recognized subject matter experts, who understand and uphold OSU’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as OSU’s commitment to science-based information and recognized best practices.
