Wei Qiang Yang

Biography

Wei Qiang Yang is a professor and district berry extension agent serving the North Willamette Valley. His work is focused on commercial berry crops and in particular blueberry production. He specialized in all aspects of blueberry production systems from field establishment, physiology and nutrition, irrigation, disease and pest management to postharvest handling and international marketing. He has over 20 years of experience working with blueberries and is an expert in blueberry mycorrhizae research. Wei received his Ph.D. from Penn State University and completed his postdoctoral training at the Boyce Thompson Institute at Cornell University. He is a member of the American Society for Horticultural Science and International Society for Horticultural Science. He provides significant leadership in organizing berry educational programs for the state of Oregon.
