Programs offered

  • Home Food Safety and Preservation Program: OSU Extension Family and Community Health ensures Oregonians have access to the most reliable information available on safe food handling at home. We offer food safety and preservation resources and classes, including our Master Food Preserver program.
  • Klamath County 4–H: Upcoming Events
  • Klamath County Master Gardeners: A program that educates Oregonians about the art and science of growing and caring for plants. This program also facilitates the training of a highly educated group of volunteers. These volunteers extend sustainable gardening information to their communities through education and outreach programs.
  • Nutrition Education and Outreach Programs (SNAP-Ed): Family and Community Health educators deliver community-based nutrition education to adults and youth in all 36 Oregon counties. OSU Extension contracts with the Oregon Department of Human Services to bring SNAP-Ed (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education) to limited-income Oregonians.
  • Open Campus: OSU Open Campus provides local access to learning to address the unique educational needs of Oregon’s communities. Through a statewide partnership network, Open Campus delivers education to underserved and place-bound Oregonians.
  • Outdoor School: OSU Extension works in collaboration with schools, partners and communities to administer funds to support and grow the statewide Outdoor School program for Oregon’s 5th and 6th grade students.
  • Tree School: Regional Tree School events held each year throughout Oregon provide important opportunities for continuing education and building community, helping support the success of family forest landowners.
