Master Food Preservers answer questions about preserving foods safely

Master Food Preservers (MFPs) are trained and certified volunteers who assist OSU Extension Service in their efforts to provide up-to-date food safety and preservation information to Oregonians. After a comprehensive, hands-on training, volunteers serve as a local community resource providing food preservation information to community members. They staff information and resource booths at events and assist with food safety/preservation workshops and demonstrations.

In some areas, the program has been enhanced to include nutrition and resource management education and volunteers assist OSU Extension efforts at emergency food sites (food pantries) and in schools.
