Home Gardening
The Douglas County Extension service supports home gardeners through the Master Gardener™ Program. Master Gardeners are volunteers trained in coordination with the OSU Extension Service to help local community members with home gardening support through their many educational outreach programs.
The Plant Clinic is open regularly, 1pm-4pm, by phone or in the Extension Office in Roseburg. The Plant Clinic is available for community members in Douglas County who need help identifying plants, insects, and gardening issues in their home gardens. Volunteers use researched-backed information to answer questions and provide one-on-one support. Commercial growers/farmers should reach out to our Small Farms program for assistance and diagnostics.
Soil testing is available for non-commercial growers through the Master Gardener™ program. See the DCMGA website for more information on soil testing services. https://beav.es/p59
The Master Gardeners also offer a plethora of educational outreach programs throughout the year. Public events are listed on the Douglas County Extension Master Gardener Events Page.
