Cherry pitter

Cherry pitters, or cherry stoners, quickly and easily remove the central pit from cherries, which is a key step in preserving. While cherries can be canned and frozen with the pit still inside, the end product is ready to use if you remove the pits prior to canning or freezing. Removing pits is also an essential step if you plan to dehydrate cherries. Cherry pitters may also be used to pit olives. Some cherry pitters remove the pit one cherry at a time, but others can remove 5 or more pits at one time.
