Mandolin slicer

A mandolin slicer is a great tool for slicing thin, even slices. Mandolin slicers may come with multiple blades to allow for julienne, wavy and waffle cuts. The blade is usually adjustable to allow for a thin slice to a thicker slice. Mandolin slicers come with a food grip to allow for space between your food and the blade. Cut-resistant gloves should be worn when you are working with the mandolin slicer. These gloves are made from tough fibers such as Kevlar or steel fibers and woven in a way that creates resistance against a blade.

A mandolin slicer can be used to uniformly slice vegetables, potatoes, cheese, cured meats, and fruits.
