The 4-H Thriving Model
Video Training- A video overview of the 4-H Thriving Model (23 min.) by the Oregon 4-H Youth Thriving Team Members. This presentation shows how the 4-H Thriving Model's elements of Sparks, Program Quality Principles, Developmental Relationships, and Youth Engagement together set the stage for youth to grow, learn and thrive.

Online Training Modules for all Volunteers
4-H Volunteer Online Training
To help you learn more about your volunteer responsibilities and the fun you can have, we have created four short interactive videos for you. Each learning module takes about 10 minutes. Please take the time to review and don't forget to sign into the guest book.
Shooting Sports Statewide Leader Training
To lead a Shooting Sports club, adults must complete the Master 4-H Shooting Sports Leader Training for the chosen discipline(s). The Master 4-H Shooting Sports Leader Training provides leaders with information on:
- Age appropriate equipment and activities
- Risk management
- Equipment storage requirements
- Teaching skills for classroom and range
All equipment and materials for the workshop are provided. Safety is a primary concern.

Tractor Safety Community Instructor Training
The Oregon Department of Agriculture requires that minors who operate tractors as farm employees take a tractor safety course in the summer. 4-H helps provide those trainings, but we need local instructors to help make them happen!
Each year, we have more teens who want to work on farms than we can certify, due to a lack of Community Instructors.
If you are over 21 years of age, interested in volunteering with the OSU Extension Service, and willing to invest in 12 hours of training, you can help provide the needed training in your communities. Please contact Andrea Leao to obtain more information about becoming an NSTMOP Community Lead Instructor (part of the Oregon’s 4-H Tractor Safety, Education, Training, and Certification Program).
