T-Shirt Design Contest

Materials

• Digital artwork is welcome!
• If digital artwork is not available to you, line drawings, paintings, and colored pencil artworks are great. Make sure to use consistent, thick lines and contrasting colors that will translate well to screen printing
• To ensure you're using the correct size, you may want to start with these StickerMule templates available for Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, EPS, and PDF.

Design Software to Consider

• Procreate is a great (paid) option for passionate illustrators using an iPad
• StickerMule Studio It is a free option where you can play with design tools and templates with just an internet connection. More info on how to design custom t-shirts in Studio is available online.
• Canva has free tools for design, too
• This YouTube video shows how to come up with ideas for t-shirt designs that will print well and sell like hotcakes, then design them in the free version of Figma.

How the winner will be chosen

• 4-H State Fair Coordinator Candi Bothum will choose the winning design
• The winner would be announced on July 30.
• Any submission will be deemed disqualified if the above guidelines of the color palette, size, placement, and lettering are not followed.
• Please don't draw the 4-H Clover on your design (general four-leaf clovers are fine). You can add the 4-H clover to your design using a png/svg or we can add it to the shirt design for you.

The winner will receive a t-shirt in the size of their choice and two day passes to the 2024 Oregon State Fair (along with some surprise 4-H swag).

Submissions

Please submit your design by July 15!

Please note: all designs may be considered for the state fair or other 4-H program materials. Please only submit original artwork that you enthusiastically consent to being used in 4-H marketing and promotional materials.

File types

• Submissions must be uploaded to Box as .eps, .svg, or PDF files
• Dimensions: 13.5” wide and 15” high is approximately the size that will print.
  • You may also use an 11” x 14” digital or scanned canvas / sketchpad page
• Do not flatten or condense your file
• Please vectorize all fonts and text if possible
  • In illustrator, this is shift+command+O or shift+ctrl+O
  • Procreate is a raster-based app. To vectorize, open in Adobe Capture.

Identification

• Print your name, age, and the title of your artwork at the bottom of the design
• Please include your first and last name and county as the file name. for example:
