Live Contests at Oregon State Fair

4-H Live Contests at the Oregon State Fair are a hoot and a half! 4-H'ers and families join us in person to show off their skills in front of judges, friends, and spectators to become even more confident in their craft and presentation (and maybe earn a shiny ribbon while they're at it)!

Live contests include flower arranging, food preparation, table setting, communication, family and consumer sciences, and more. Live animal contests have their own pages, with separate schedules including the Livestock Schedule and the Small Animal Contest Schedule.

Fashion Revue

For the budding fashion designers among us, the live Fashion Revue is a great place to show off sewing skills, creativity, and style.

Family and Consumer Sciences Classic

Everyone's family, home, lifestyle, and financial situation is different, but some skills are universal enough to benefit us all—even in today's modern world!

Life skills in this category include knowing how to cook safe, nutritious, and delicious meals, tailor your own clothes (yes, that's how celebrities always look so good), being prepared for disasters, and even creating safe, healthy, and functional interior spaces.

Flower Arranging Contest

Arranging beautiful bouquets for special events and people is a skill that you can use to make yourself, your home, and your loved ones feel happy, welcome, and refreshed. It can even become a business in your future!

Food Contests

Whether you're learning to find, prepare, and preserve foods for the winter, to share with family, or to survive the zombie apocalypse, 4-H has your food skills covered. Show them off at state fair with one of the Food Contests below:
