Youth Voices in Action Conference / Outreach Leadership Institute Event II

Youth in grades 8 through 12 are invited to Youth Voices in Action leadership conference to have fun and develop their leadership skills, practice public speaking, and work in teams to meet with state agency representatives and legislators to solve real life problems.

Youth Voices in Action: Tuesday, March 28 to Friday, March 31.

This event also serves as the second event in the Oregon Leadership Institute series.

    Be where the action is!

    Join youth from across the state to share ideas and create solutions for real issues that affect your communities. Youth will be guaranteed to have fun, meet other teens from across the state and learn how to take action about issues that concern you.

    As a participant in the conference you will:

    • Learn valuable skills in advocating for things that matter to you
    • Make valuable connections with government officials and others
    • Learn about our state government and how decisions are made
    • Attend workshops to prepare you for jobs, communicating with peers and adults, and advocating for what really matters to you
    • Polish your leadership skills and learn how to be involved in your community
    • Build lasting friendships with youth from across the state

    Scholarships

    • Katy Zollner Memorial Scholarship: Katy Zollner was an active 4-H member in Deschutes and Douglas counties as well as an Oregon State University student. This memorial scholarship was established to honor her extraordinary career in 4-H and love of Oregon 4-H Know Your Government Program by helping youth learn and recognize their ability to impact public decision making.
